Workmen’s compensation, now referred to as the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA) in South Africa, is a system that provides financial and medical benefits to employees who are injured or contract a disease during their employment. This system, administered by the Compensation Fund, aims to protect employees from the financial burden of work-related injuries or illnesses.
You must submit a statement detailing these earnings every year. The earning statements must stipulate the nature of your business, the number of employees and the amount you have paid them (salaries and wages) for the assessment period, from the beginning of March to the end of February (tax year).
